She broke through the barriers of the music industry in her roles as a performer, singer and designer. She was Mexican-American, but still traditional. She brought Tejano into mainstream music. Her name was rising but her sudden death broke it. It is also the case with a talented, charismatic and young artist is lost too quickly, many mourned the potential she was yet to reach. Her fans are working even harder to not forget what she's accomplished. The tragic shooting death of Selena provoked a response from the Latino Community that was comparable with the reactions to the death of Elvis Presley or John Lennon.
